Considered one of Canada’s most accomplished and respected healthcare leaders, Jeffrey Lozon has demonstrated an effective and expert; leadership acumen throughout his distinguished career. Having observed and realized a lifetime of lessons (and still learning!), Jeff is uniquely qualified to provide insightful and out-of-the-box counsel certain to cultivate the Board Chair / CEO dynamic. He understands intuitively the importance of relationship building between Chairs and CEOs to achieve high level performance and to improve satisfaction at this level of the organization.

As a Healthcare Chief Executive Officer, Jeff has worked across Canada. In the west, he was CEO at both the Manitoba Health Organizations and Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. He was then CEO St Michael’s Hospital for 18 years, while jointly serving as Vice Chair of the SMH Foundation. Most recently, he was CEO of Revera Inc, one the largest chains of senior living communities in Canada.
In his role as CEO, Jeff worked for 12 Board Chairs, in four different provinces and, with each new Chair / CEO pairing, he learned to adjust and evolve. He understands and has deep experience in building relationships in the boardroom to improve organizational capacity.
In addition to his Chair and CEO roles Jeff also served as Ontario’s Deputy Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, at the invitation of the Premier. In this position, he developed relationships with not only the Minister, but also leaders in various levels of government, and was instrumental in advancing value-added leadership practices within the Government of Ontario’s largest Ministry.
In 2009, Jeff received the Order of Canada in recognition of his innovative and sustained healthcare leadership, in addition to championing the advancement of care in treating the most vulnerable populations(most notably at St. Michael's Hospital).
Jeff has held academic appointments at the University of Toronto, the University of Alberta, and the University of Saskatchewan. He was awarded a certificate in Senior Executive Leadership from Stanford University, a Master’s degree from the University of Alberta, and an Honorary Doctorate from Bishops University. Jeff has been designated a recipient of the Alumni Awards of Excellence from both the University of Alberta and the University of Guelph.
